FOWP May Committee meeting

May 10, 2011

Amy from Groundworks (who will be managing the consultation for the redevelopment of Wormholt Park) came to speak at our committee meeting on the 10 May (read the minutes of the meeting). The committee gave feedback on the consultation questionnaire and suggested the catchment area for the consultation should be similar to the ward boundaries of Wormholt and White City. The committee stressed the importance of a representative consultation that captures the views of park users and local residents that live near the park but don’t necessarily use it. Groundworks agreed to include a Friends of Wormholt Park flyer with the questionnaire that will go out to approximately 4,000 local residents. Groundworks will also hold consultation events to obtain people’s view with an evening event introducing the consultation process in the week beginning 6th June and a substantive consultation event in the park on Saturday 18th June. Other consultation events will be held directed at particular groups who currently use the park and others that do not. The data-gathering phase for the consultation is expected to end on the 29th July. Watch this space for further updates on the consultation process.

The next FOWP committee meeting will take place on Monday 13th June. Please contact the Secretary, Clare to find out more details wormholtpark@gmail.com.
