Meet the Friends – picnic in the park

A huge thank you to all of the Friends of Wormholt Park who came to the picnic on Sunday (26 June). Around 200 of us got together on a beautiful sunny Sunday to celebrate the park (and the great weather!).

We had face painting, story telling, a bouncy castle, a cake making competition and a nature hunt.

Jimmy from the Queen Adelaide did a roaring trade with his Pimms; Ruth created cake heaven; Mary’s flans were a huge hit. Gareth from QPR trained our future premier league stars, And we signed up lots of new members (we now have over 150 members).

So, thanks again – and we look forward to seeing you at the 100th anniversary celebrations in on the 9-11 of September. Watch out here for more news about that event. If anybody has photos from the picnic that they would like to share (and have approval from everybody in the pictures) please email them to wormholtpark@gmail.com and we will add them to our flickr page.

What an amazing day it sounds. I am so sorry I couldn’t make the 26th, but already looking forward to the next one!
