“I am absolutely delighted to win these tickets and want to say a big thank you to Friends of Wormholt Park and to Winkworth.

“My grandparents were QPR supporters, as was my great aunt, who was born several houses down from my place on Oaklands Grove. This may not sound so unusual but I grew up in Australia and had no idea about this connection with the street nor QPR until after I bought my place seven years ago.

“I have followed QPR since then but have not managed to get tickets to any games this season. So this is like all my Christmases coming at once”.

The winning ticket was drawn by Gareth Dixon from QPR in the Community Trust. Ruth Brown and Karen Fraser from the Friends Events Committee attended the draw and presented Winkworths with a special cake to commemorate Wormholt Parks 100th birthday.

Simon Waller, Winkworths Sales Manager said “It was a real pleasure for us at Winkworth Shepherds Bush to host the Friends of Wormholt Park raffle prize draw and indeed to supply the prize of the corporate hospitality tickets for the QPR V Aston Villa game.

The sponsorship of the Friends of Wormholt Park is a fantastic opportunity for us to get involved in helping to revitalise a historic and sadly underused local park.

We wanted a project which we felt would genuinely benefit the community in which we work and one in which we could take an active roll. The Friends of Wormholt Park is just such a project and it is a pleasure to be involved with them”.
