Wormholt Park – The First Hundred Years

September 25, 2012

The much anticipated book marking the first one hundred years of Wormholt Park was launched at a party at Hummingbird Cafe on Thursday 20 September. After a full page in the Chronicle the next day, the book went on sale for £3.50 at nine local sales outlets including The Queen Adelaide, Askewine, Janet Adegoke Pools and The Chiropody Clinic.

Congratulations and huge thanks to both the author Peter Trott and editor Cat Moulton.

Peter undertook many months of research to undercover fascinating events in the park’s history including the origins of its name, the outdoor lido, war time trenches and school fetes. Containing 24 full colour pictures, the book illustrates how the park was at the heart of community life, and gives inspiration to securing its continued place within the community for the next 100 years.
