Wormholt Park holds a rich history dating back to its grand opening in June 1911, during the coronation celebrations for King George V. Ever since its inauguration, this park has held a special place in the hearts of the local community, providing a cherished green space for recreation and relaxation.

As the years passed, Wormholt Park faced challenges, and by the early 2000s, it was in need of revitalization. This spurred the formation of the Friends of Wormholt in 2011, a dedicated group committed to collaborating with the local authorities to ensure the park's upkeep and improvement.
